Week 7: Digital Learning- Blended Learning

Reflect on how you could incorporate a 'Flipped' or 'Blended' Approach into your classroom. What tools could you use, who could you collaborate with?

Within our school, the notion of blended approach is a key aspect of our classrooms, as every child has a 1:1 device within the school. We create projects and videos for the children to complete, parents often work on these projects during the weekend to prepare and discuss learning for the upcoming week. By doing this, it not only prepares children for what work is coming up, but for children to understand that these projects can be referred to in future, if they forget concepts in due course. Flipped learning provides an invaluable opportunity for children to take control of their own learning, in their own time and at their own pace.

In addition to this, we were provided with the following links where teachers can create their own flipped lessons. This was a concept that was discussed so that learning is active, learners are more engaged with their learning as they learn in their own time and own place.

Week 6: Leadership- Leadership Theories and Styles

Consider how you might harness a number of different leadership theories in leading a change initiative involving multiple stakeholder groups:

For me, the because factor is involving everyone and making sure you are considering the strengths and areas of development of each individual, so that everyone can get something out of the learning. For, not only does this involve the staff, but students and parents, as well. The relationships between home and school is vital in a successful implementation within the classroom. So, the leadership theories of, 'Coaching', 'Pace-Setting' and 'Visionary', are the most important theories for me as a leader, because they involve everyone, with me still being able to share and be a leader of this course, as well.

The activities that are set through these leadership theories, allow children to develop creative and valuable skills of the 21st Century.
